Our Faith & How We Operate
Ekklesia Theatre is a faith-based, Christian-led company. Our leadership and board believe in Jesus, and that shapes how we choose our productions and how we operate. We select works that have artistic merit and speak honestly to the human condition.
Our 2026-2027 season’s theme is Love Your Neighbor. Through stories of connection, compassion, loss, forgiveness, hope, and community, we aim to explore what it means to truly see the people around us and recognize their inherent worth and dignity. We believe great theatre can cultivate empathy, encourage meaningful conversations, and remind us of our shared humanity.
What this means in practice:
Prayer: We begin rehearsals and performances with a short prayer. Participation is encouraged but never required. You are always free to quietly observe, step outside, or simply remain present. We only ask that everyone respect each other’s choices.
Inclusion: We welcome people of all faiths, or no faith, and of every background, creed, and belief to audition, perform, and volunteer with us. We are committed to treating every person with dignity, respect, and kindness.
Community Impact: We show our faith through action: donating a percentage of ticket sales to local charities, removing financial barriers through our Pay-It-Forward ticket model, and paying stipends to all artists.
We are transparent about who we are so that you know what to expect and can choose whether this is a good fit for you. If you ever have questions about our faith or practices, Artistic Director Chris Murphy or any board member would be glad to talk with you.
You will be redirected to Sign Up Genius to reserve your audition slot once you submit the form.
